American Originals Fife and Drum Corps and West Point Alumni Glee Club added to War of 1812 Bicentennial Concert Event This Sunday

LEESBURG, Va., Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The 1812 Bicentennial Committee announces the addition of the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps and West Point Alumni Glee Club to join the Loudoun Symphony to perform at the War of 1812 Bicentennial concert event this Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg, VA.

The Sunday, September 23rd family festival, to be held on the beautiful lawns of Leesburg's Ida Lee Park starting at 2 p.m., will feature the entire Loudoun Symphony Orchestra performing a wide range of historically compelling music, including "The 1812 Overture," Tchaikovsky's powerful, popular and robust praise to victory.

The final concert program will be the following:


-- 2:00 pm - ?Gates open
-- 2:45 pm? - Special Performance by the American Originals Fife & Drum
Corps.
-- 3:15 pm? - Special Performance by The West Point Alumni Glee Club
-- 4:00 pm? - Loudoun Symphony Orchestra performs with special narrator

The Loudoun Symphony's program will include performances of Fanfare for the Common Man, Yankee Doodle, You're a Grand Old Flag, Star-Spangled Banner, America, the Beautiful, American Civil War Fantasy, ?Liberty for All, ?1812 Overture, and ?Stars & Stripes Forever. Plus, famed Baritone Robert Cantrell (appeared with Baltimore Opera, Washington National Opera, Metropolitan Opera) will be narrating "Liberty for All" by James Beckel.

Onsite food vendors will include Jimmy John's Subs, NC Ribs on Wheels, and the Ice Cream Lady.
