Independent Film Development Corp. (OTCBB: IFLM) Awarded Producer and Worldwide Sales Rights for $20,000,000 Feature Film "Famine"

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Independent Film Development Corporation (OTCBB: IFLM), a development stage international sales and distributor of digital films, producers and crowd funders to the multibillion dollar Independent Film Industry, announced today that it signed an agreement to produce the upcoming feature film, "Famine". IFLM has also been awarded the exclusive worldwide sales rights. Pre-production is scheduled to begin in November 2012. The film's budget is estimated to be $20 million USD. While the film is not yet financed, management is extremely excited to be associated with such an interesting international project.

The story follows the true life struggles of the Irish people during the Great Famine and the outreach of the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire to the starving Irish People. The screenplay was written by Omer Sarikaya.

"It's a little-known but inspiring story," Sarikaya said. "I would say 99 percent of the people know nothing about this episode in history, which is something we hope to change." Since he expressed his plans to make this film, he has received numerous emails from people from Ireland and Turkey. The emails expressed both amazement about this unknown piece of history and anticipation for seeing the story told on the big screen.

Slated to be shot in Ireland and Turkey, writer / producer Omer Sarikaya stated that Turkish government officials familiar with the project are delighted and supportive of the production. Additionally, they assured him that the Turkish Government will provide locations, logistical support and a portion of the financing for the film. Mr. Sarikaya has also been in touch with the Irish Government, which has also shown great interest in the project and has promised their support.

"While the suffering of Irish people during the great famine is well known, what's not well known is that Sultan Abdulmecid sent ships laden with wheat some 4,000 miles for relief," said IFLM CEO Jeff Ritchie. "I believe this film will shed some light on a piece of history and show how two completely different cultures worked together over a hundred years ago for such a good cause."

"The film will be casting A-list American and European actors for the Irish roles as well as the top actors in Turkish Cinema. Three of that nations biggest stars, Kenan Imirzalioglu, Ibrahim Celikkol and Erkan Petekkaya have all agreed to parts in the film," said the film's co-producer Roland Mombaur. "It's a truly international film, we believe it is a win-win situation for us all."

The film is subject to complete financing.
