Fan Vote to Determine Opening Acts for George Killian's Irish Red Ruckus Tour

VHS or Beta will headline inaugural 10-city George Killian's concert tour; fans will vote to select opening acts

CHICAGO, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Think you've got what it takes to rock the Red Ruckus? As the band VHS or Beta prepares to take the stage on a 10-city Irish Red Ruckus tour this fall, all eyes and ears will be on their opener. Starting today, up-and-coming bands can submit their songs to Facebook.com/GeorgeKillians for the chance to open for VHS or Beta in their city. To be eligible, all band members must be legal U.S. residents of Colorado, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Tennessee or Texas and 21 or older. No purchase is required to enter or win.

Now through Sept. 2, bands can upload their songs to Facebook to enter for a chance to be selected for the fan vote. George Killian's Irish Red has partnered with The Onion's entertainment off-shoot, The A.V. Club, which will select the top three bands for each concert stop. Then, from Sept. 14 - Oct. 7, fans can vote on the Killian's Facebook page for their favorite band. Killian's will announce the winning bands via Facebook, and the opening acts will take the stage at their local Irish Red Ruckus tour stop ahead of the headliner.

"George Killian's Irish Red was first brewed in 1864 to be enjoyed with friends, and we think it's time to add to those fun nights out by adding a great soundtrack," said Katie Cowan, Killian's brand manager. "We're thrilled to be partnering with VHS or Beta, the AV Club and 10 amazing, up-and-coming bands to give our fans a rocking show they can enjoy with Killian's."

About George Killian's Irish Red

George Killian's Irish Red is an authentic Irish lager based on an original family recipe that dates back to 1864 in Enniscorthy, Ireland. George Killian first brewed a ruby ale that later became the inspiration for George Killian's Irish Red. He used only pure spring water and the finest caramel malts roasted longer and slower to give his brew a rich red color and distinctive taste. The beer is still known for its rich amber color and thick, creamy head. More information is available at www.GeorgeKillians.com or at www.Facebook.com/GeorgeKillians.
