DETROIT, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- There will be lots of great food in Downtown Detroit with barbeque ribbers from across the United States. Detroit will have the best barbeque this side of the Mississippi Aug. 10-12. On Sunday, Aug. 12, chefs from around the country will smoke, grill and season ribs to perfection during the tasty Rib Cook Off. This year, 15 grillers will compete for the Best Ribs andBest Sauce title. Each winner will receive a trophy and bragging rights. The 17(th) Annual Ribs 'n' Soul has a new name -- Ribs R&B Music Festival.

On Sunday, the Gospel Showcase will be from noon-3 p.m., while R&B and jazz will be from 4 p.m.-midnight. The Ribs R&B Music Festival will also feature a Health Expo, Art on the River, an African village, a Business Expo and Kid's Zone. Preferred seating and VIP tickets are available for both Saturday and Sunday shows.
