The goal is to sell 10,000 school supply packages, which will go to students in Pearland, Alvin and Tomball ISDs.

As part of the event, local Cox Media Group radio stations will be broadcasting live from the following Kroger stores:

"We're proud to continue our company's tradition of support for education at multiple levels--from providing customers the information they need to make better, smarter energy decisions to providing key school supplies to school children in the communities we serve," said Robert Wilson, President and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources.

Mark Krieschen, Cox Media Group's Vice President and Market Manager for Houston, added, "Cox Media Group Houston and our local radio stations are proud to be associated with two great business leaders in our community. Together with our partners, GDF SUEZ and Kroger, our three radio stations--The New 93Q, Country Legends 97.1, and Houston's Eagle--are asking our listeners and customers to help kids be better prepared with the basic supplies for the upcoming school year. This is our community's opportunity to make a difference in the lives of deserving local children."
