Beauty, Entertainment, and Fashion's New Main Event To Honor Top Celebrity Fashion Stylists, Hair Stylists, Make-Up Artists, and Photographers

NEWARK, N.J., June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2nd Annual Blackout Awards returns for another year this time with COVERGIRL Queen Collection and a stellar line-up of honorees from all creative walks of life. This prestigious awards event hosted by 4 -time Emmy Award winning make-up artist, Karen Dupiche was created to celebrate the eclectic talents behind the scenes of the entertainment industry. The highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Newark, NJ from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM at the stylish Hilton Newark Gateway Hotel.

The 2011 Blackout Awards will roll out the red carpet by honoring distinguished For Colored Girls playwright, Ntozake Shange with the Lifetime Achievement Award; empowerment diva, Crystal Wright with the Vanguard Award; and award-winning journalist from Inside Edition and BETApril Woodard with the Trailblazer Award. These amazing women will be honored for their years of dedication in their varied fields of expertise.

The 2nd Annual event will also honor this year's Blackout 12 which consists of an impressive selection of some of the creative industry's elite: AJ Crimson, Andrea Fairweather, Coco && Breezy, Curtis Smith, John "JayBee" Bivins, John Blassingame, John Ricard, Johnny Nunez, Lisa Logan, Roger McKenzie, and Unique London.

The Blackout Awards will also award International HIV/AIDS Activist, Hydeia Broadbent with the first-ever Blackout Humanitarian Award. A portion of proceeds from The Blackout Awards and AMPRO Pro Styl will be donated to Broadbent at the ceremony.
