100 Black Men of America Chair Headline Bev Smith's Show Town Hall Meeting

Allegheny County, will announce an expansion of its current
Mentoring program to address "Economic Opportunity" for Black

On Friday, June 17, 2011 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m., the nationally syndicated Bev Smith Show will broadcast a live town hall meeting from the August Wilson Center in downtown Pittsburgh. It's the third in a series of four town hall meetings focusing on the "Disappearing Black Community."

The show will specifically focus on "The Endangered Black Man" and will be headlined by Albert Dotson, Chairman of the 100 Black Men of America; Chef Jeff Henderson, award winning chef and best selling author; Dr. Boyce Watkins, political/social commentator and professor at Syracuse University and Esther Bush, President of the Pittsburgh Urban League. The town hall meeting, before a live audience, will take place in August Wilson Center's spacious 486 seat theatre.

The show will also feature a live appearance by Jordan Miles and his mother Terez Miles. In January 2010, young Jordan, a high school student, was beaten at the hands of White undercover police while visiting his grandmother in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh. Most recently the United States Justice Department decided not to prosecute the three police officers involved.

The Bev Smith Show is heard on some 30 stations across the country including WWRL, New York, WVON, Chicago, WOL, Washington DC, WAOK, Atlanta, WURD, Philadelphia and WGBN-AM 1150 in Pittsburgh.
