Artist Community Opening Doors to Public
BROOKLYN, N.Y., May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Artists of 35 Claver Place announce their participation in the 2011 SONYA Studio Stroll. On May 14th and 15th, 14 artists living and working there open their studios to the public for a unique glimpse at their art and creative process. Strollers will enjoy a variety of media, ranging from live performance to portrait photography to painting and sculpture.
Meet the Artists of 35 Claver Place:
Kennis Baptiste, working with printmaking, painting and drawing, will be showing complex charcoal line drawings, where the drawing was captured without any lines intersecting. He will also be presenting a collection of traditional portrait drawings that emphasize the essence of beauty. (http://www.kennisbb.com)
John Bjerklie, working in a variety of mediums, will be working live on new pieces for the next phase of the "WorldWiDeTour" project that began at ArtLot in 2009. (http://www.johnbjerklie.com)
Poogy Bjerklie, a painter working in oil on board, will be showing work that uses detached observation of the natural world to elicit a sense of place, solitude and stillness.
