Hollywood Producer J. Herbert Klein Honors Ronald Reagan, Howard Hughes, and Jon Hall by Penning Biographies and Establishing Innovative Publishing Company
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran Hollywood producer J. Herbert Klein has led a life of accomplishment - and, at age 89, feels he owes much of his success to three individuals: Ronald Reagan, Howard Hughes, and Jon Hall. To honor these friends and mentors, Klein has completed two books - with another on the way - and has established International FA Publishing to bring the stories into the world.
Klein's first book ROAD TO HOLLYWOOD, published in August 2010, tells his life story - from the time he served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and reported to Ronald Reagan, to his experiences producing DEATH OF A SCOUNDREL for Howard Hughes, to his business partnership with film star Jon Hall. The memoir has garnered five-star reviews on Amazon, and has received accolades from industry professionals, including the head of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, who called the book, "a very enjoyable read - fascinating and articulate."
Klein recently completed a book about Ronald Reagan - the man who gave him his start in the movie business. In 1942, Captain Reagan took Private Klein under his wing and helped the young recruit learn about filmmaking at the First Motion Picture Unit - the arm of the U.S. Air Force tasked with creating educational and training films for service personnel. In appreciation, Klein has written RONALD REAGAN'S ROAD TO THE WHITE HOUSE: HOW HOLLYWOOD PREPARED AMERICA'S 40TH PRESIDENT FOR THE WORLD STAGE. The book is a fun, photo-filled homage to Reagan that reveals how The Gipper evolved into The Great Communicator. Scheduled for release in early February 2011 - to coincide with the Reagan Centennial - the book includes hundreds of photographs and compelling, behind-the-scene tales about Reagan's life as a Hollywood actor.
Next on Klein's roster is INVISIBLE PARTNERS: HOWARD HUGHES, JON HALL, AND THE PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE. In the book, Klein will discuss his 14-year business partnership with movie actor and inventor Jon Hall - who died under mysterious circumstances in 1979 - and share never-before-revealed details of the radical inventions Hall developed in a secret partnership with Howard Hughes.
