Morgans Hotel Group Announces Its Partnership With RCRD LBL and Downtown Records
Enhancing guest experiences yet again, this time with innovative music content
NEW YORK, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- -- Morgans Hotel Group Co. (Nasdaq: MHGC) ("MHG"), the original boutique hotel company, announces its plans to provide guests with dynamic musical content curated exclusive for its properties by RCRD LBL, the premiere online destination for free downloads from the hottest marquee and emergent artists.
In keeping with Morgans Hotel Group's commitment to creating engaging, bespoke experiences for its guests, the boutique hotel innovator is now collaborating with RCRD LBL to create unique, twenty-song playlists specific to the individual personalities of each of its properties. These playlists, currently available for Ames, Delano, Royalton and Mondrian, can be found on Morgans Hotel Group's groundbreaking Tumblr, its website and on its new in-room iPads at Royalton. Playlists are comprised of new songs by cutting-edge artists and are refreshed by RCRD LBL with new content every three months. Some of the artists featured include Free Energy, Memory Tapes, Best Coast, Wavves, The Drums and many other new talents.
"Music has always been an important part of the experience at our hotels, from the carefully selected playlists in the background in each of our lobbies and the underwater music at Delano's 'Water Salon', to the exciting performances we have featured in our hotels through programs such as Sanderson Predicts in London and our new Mondrian sessions in Los Angeles," said Kim Walker, Senior Vice President and Creative Director for Morgans Hotel Group. "Delivering custom musical content unique to each of our hotels and making it available on a complimentary basis to our guests, through multiple online channels, is the next step in keeping our amenities fresh and our guests excited to see what's next from Morgans Hotel Group."
Morgans Hotel Group has a tradition of collaborating with up-and-coming musical artists through live performances at its hotels that in the past have featured now famous musicians such as Janelle Monae, Florence and the Machine and many others. This new amenity takes the company's commitment to music and creating new experiences to the next level, allowing guests to download custom playlists for free, and even share them with friends.
The next feature that will be available exclusively through Morgans Hotel Group's partnership with Downtown Records will be a free, downloadable song that will be delivered to guests via email with their reservation confirmation. A Morgans Hotel Group guest will soon be able to preview the hotel they are visiting through a musical representation of that hotel's unique personality. For example, if you are heading to Mondrian in LA, Florence and the Machine's "You Got The Love" will give you a creative glimpse at the youthful free spirit that is the iconic Mondrian. This exciting new partnership provides Morgans Hotel Group's guests with yet another exclusive amenity and another way to extend their hotel experience, even after they check out.
