Film explores the marriage of two adults with Down syndrome and the family who strives to support their needs.

HBO and Comcast are hosting the invitation-only premiere of
HBO Documentary Films' MONICA & DAVID, in partnership with
Best Buddies and Miami International Film Festival. Directed
by first-time filmmaker Alexandra Codina, the documentary
explores the marriage of two adults with Down syndrome and the
family who strives to support their needs. Full of humor,
romance and everyday family drama, the film weaves together
intimate footage with personal interviews, revealing the
complexity of their story. While marriage is unusual for
adults with intellectual disabilities, throughout the film
Monica and David become a model for love and challenge what it
