Sound Strike Artists Conor Oberst and Band Bright Eyes to Release Song 'Coyote Song' Online With Proceeds Benefiting Legal Defense of Immigrants in Arizona.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Artist Boycott of Arizona, The Sound Strike announces Sound Strike Songs. Artists Boycott of Arizona, The Sound Strike continues to gain momentum. New online fundraising will benefit legal defense in Arizona. Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes Release first single Coyote Song.

This exclusive collection of songs will be for sale at http://www.thesoundstrike.net/soundstrikesongs.php for $2. The proceeds from the sale of this song online will benefit The Florence Project, a nonprofit organization providing free legal help to immigrants caught in the detention and deportation system in Arizona.

In an open letter to Artists Conor Oberst said:

"American ideals of democracy and liberty are built on the foundation that all people, regardless of race or country of origin, deserve fair and equal treatment by the government. ... We've all seen the power music has to spread messages of solidarity and hope. Please join the Sound Strike Songs project by donating a track and help us ... enable people to continue to dream."

Arizona is a place where Maricopa County Sheriffs carry toys to calm the nerves of children whose parents are physically pried away from the arms of their children. Those immigrant parents are detained without bail or access to public defenders. The need for legal defense is great as is the need for assistance to the guardians, usually family or neighbors that take in these emotionally distressed children while their parents are held by the Arizona prison system.

The Bright Eyes song Coyote Song is the first Sound Strike song. Coyote Song is a remarkably touching and nostalgic love song about two lovers separated by the US/Mexico Border. The video and mp3 for Coyote Song are available.

In other news, Sound Strike Artists Rodrigo & Gabriela will rock Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Rodrigo and Gabriela will appear, Thursday, September 30th 11:35-12:35 p.m. ET on NBC. Rodrigo and Gabriela recently joined the Sound Strike, made a financial contribution and hosting Zack de la Rocha, Sound Strike Founder at their concert in Colorado. Colorado anti-immigrant groups are currently proposing an SB 1070 copycat bill. Sound Strike also announces new video featuring Rodrigo and Gabriela on behalf of Sound Strike Arizona Artists boycott at www.thesoundstrike.net.
