9/11 Singing Cop Enlists Giuliani to Find 9/12
NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Find 9/12 is a new web-TV series urging us to rediscover the compassion that united us in the wake of 9/11.
The September 12 Effect is promoted as a way to move beyond our grief and anger and to resolve conflicts such as the current Park51 Ground Zero Mosque debate.
The series is hosted by Daniel Rodriguez, who captured the nation's attention as "The Singing Cop" in the wake of the 2001 attacks.
He was stationed at Ground Zero, but as an official singer for the NYPD he was also called on to perform at countless funerals, memorials, media appearances and Prayer for America. Daniel's renditions of The National Anthem, God Bless America and Amazing Grace were powerful statements of solidarity, determination and hope that galvanized not only his fellow New Yorkers but all Americans.
"At Ground Zero, covered in that dust, you couldn't tell who was white, black, Muslim or Christian. For a brief moment we all forgot our petty differences and treated each other with pure generosity," states Daniel.
Find 9/12 blends Daniel's personal search for peace with the stories of leaders like Mayor Giuliani and Cardinal Egan, first-responders like Police Chief Hoehl and 9/11 families like the Pettits.
"When you're going through a tremendous crisis what you lack is the perspective that you'll eventually be able to move on," states Mayor Giuliani. "Daniel helped us do that in 2001 and he's doing it again today."
"I hope sharing my story, confronting my fears and pursuing my freedom will inspire others to do so," states Daniel.
Each web-TV episode captures a story or issue in under 5 minutes. Forums on the website facilitate discussion of the ideas raised.
"We want our audience to reflect, share and debate," states series creator Simon Dikkenberg. "We've discovered through Daniel's journey that these are vital steps to rediscover 9/12."
Episodes will be released regularly between now and the 10th anniversary next year. Current episodes include Daniel's experience at an anti-Mosque rally and an exclusive interview with Giuliani.
The series can be viewed on the website http://www.find912.com/ and on YouTube and Facebook. For interviews with Daniel or Simon, contact freedom@find912.com or 646 400 9317.
