The program will kick off in September, 2009 with the Welch boys hitting up elementary high schools with a fun musical and motivational program challenging students to participate in a nationwide awards program to recognize and help develop the talents of school children and acknowledge their teachers. The program aims to bring recognition to both deserving teachers and students to help foster and develop future generations with a career in the arts. Every 6 months, music and TV stars Josh and JB Welch, along with their advisers, will pick the best students and teachers nationwide and will recognize them both on the TV show and in worldwide media. They will also donate proceeds from their new forthcoming Gravity album and Josh and JB related merchandise back to local educational programs focused on teens in the arts.
Josh and JB know what it's like to be a young teen trying to figure your way through the maze of developing a music career. "We got started at an early age, we needed mentors and help and guidance and that has made all of the difference for our own careers getting started and so we naturally want to give back as well," they stated.
To participate in the program, students and teachers can visit http://www.joshandjb.com/ where students, teachers and the community can participate in the awards program.
