10 Reasons To Attend The Seventh Annual Hispanic Television Summit
Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday September 24, 2009 Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square, New York
NEW YORK, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- There are ten compelling reasons to attend the Seventh Annual Hispanic Television Summit, presented by leading television trade publications, Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News, at NY's Marriott Marquis Hotel on September 23 and 24, 2009.
1. The focus is on generating revenue. The Summit focuses on the ways the
industry makes its money: advertising, subscriptions, transactions, and
TV rights or syndication fees.
2. Reputation. The Summit has earned a reputation as the signature event
for those in the business of Hispanic television. It attracts 400
attendees from the U.S., Latin America, and Spain representing
networks, broadcasters, pay TV providers, broadband and mobile,
financial investors, researchers, advertisers and agencies. Attendees
return each year to re-connect with others in the industry at the
numerous networking opportunities.
3. The 2009 Award recipient is Edgar Sandoval of Procter & Gamble. The
2009 annual Award for a Lifetime of Achievement in Hispanic TV will be
presented for the first time to an advertiser. P&G is recognized for
its long commitment to Hispanic advertising and Sandoval, P&G's GM of
Marketing North America, will receive the award for his leadership of
the company's support to Hispanic TV. Prior awards went to news
anchor, Jorge Ramos; internationally-renowned talk show personality,
Cristina Saralegui; TV personality, Maria Celeste Arraras; sports
caster Andres Cantor; and TV legend, Mario Kreutzberger aka Don
Francisco.
4. Don Francisco. This TV icon, beloved by millions of Univision viewers
of Sabado Gigante, (the world's longest-running variety TV show) will
open the Summit on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with a fun-look-back and
exciting-look-ahead to the growth of advertising on Hispanic TV.
5. Cable TV Exec Jeffrey Hirsch. Hirsch is one of the few cable TV
executives with professional experience in the two largest U. S.
Hispanic markets -- LA and NY. As the President for Time Warner's
Residential Services in the NYC region, Hirsch will speak directly to
the current opportunities for serving Hispanic subscribers in a
one-on-one interview with Multichannel News Editor-in Chief, Mark
Robichaux.
6. Telemundo's Don Browne. The network president shares his thoughts about
the state of the Hispanic TV industry in a special interview with
Multichannel News executive editor, Kent Gibbons. Browne is expected
to comment on how the upcoming Census is an industry guide for
generating future revenues, especially as it relates to the shifting
profile of the Hispanic TV household.
7. Hot Topics. There will be 5 distinct sessions each addressing topics
that are critical to the industry. Wednesday features a panel on the
state of Hispanic TV advertising followed by a session on marketing for
the purpose of generating television transactions, like pay TV
subscription and more. Thursday's sessions start with a focus on
programming para los hombres -- a conversation about content targeted
to attract the highly-desired Hispanic male 18-34 years-old audience
segment. This session is followed by a lively discussion on attracting
viewers through tune-in and experiential promotional events and
campaigns. The final session is focused on the challenges of
increasing distribution for Hispanic-audience networks in an
increasingly competitive marketplace.
8. Leading Agency Executives. The agenda features an A-List of the
advertising industry's brightest stars from both the creative and the
media sides of the business. Hear from top execs including Alain
Groenendaal, President and CEO of wing; Jessica Pantanini, COO of
Bromley Communications; Danielle Gonzales, Managing Director of
Tapestry; Jorge Moya, COO of MGSCOMM; and communications services
executive, Christine Clavijo-Kish, SVP at PR Newswire.
9. Top Advertising Professionals. The Wednesday session right after Don
Francisco includes advertising sales leaders Andrew Capone from NCC,
Univision's Peter Lazarus and Tom Maney from Fox Sports en Espanol, as
well as Sarah Foss, CEO of VCI Solutions.
10. Leading TV Programming and Marketing Executives. The prestigious
line-up of pay TV leaders features marketing executives like DIRECTV's
John de Armas, Time Warner's David Gray and Cox's Renata Franco and
Philip Polk. Plus, attendees will hear from a powerhouse of
programming executives from broadcast, cable and satellite TV
including David Sternberg, the EVP and GM of Fox Sports en Espanol;

Desportes' Robyn Remick; Univision EVP Alina Falcon; Cine Latino

Winter Horton; David Higgins, VP from Comcast Media Center; Ruben
