Event to Take Place at the ZonePerfect live.create. lounge in Westwood Village on Saturday, June 27 at 8 p.m.

NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of the Platinum success of his latest single "Come On Get Higher," accomplished songwriter/lyricist and performer, Matt Nathanson will headline a tribute concert hosted by ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation at Film Independent's 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival in the ZonePerfect live.create. lounge on Saturday, June 27, beginning at 8 p.m.

Dedicated to nourishing music in our schools, through the end of the year, Abbott Nutrition is donating a portion of proceeds from ZonePerfect Nutrition Bar purchases to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation for a total of $120,000, to help the Foundation restore music programs in public schools nationwide. The fundraising effort is part of the ZonePerfect brand's "live.create." campaign, which celebrates the discovery of creativity at music and arts festivals nationwide, including the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival.

ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars' tribute event for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation will take place on the closing night of the ZonePerfect live.create. lounge at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival. The lounge will be open to festival pass holders on a first-come, first-served basis. The evening's program will open with a performance by the Manual Arts Combo and Jazz Band made up of students from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, who earlier attended VH1 Save The Music Foundation grant-recipient schools. Afterward, representatives from the ZonePerfect brand in partnership with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation will present the Los Angeles Unified School District with a donation to restore a local elementary school's instrumental music program. Headlining the night is VH1 You Oughta Know Artist Matt Nathanson, who will perform an engaging live set of soul-stirring renditions off his chart-topping Vanguard Records CD, Some Mad Hope.

"Music education is an important part of a balanced education, but many schools in Los Angeles and nationwide have had to suspend their programs due to fiscal constraints," said Monica Hysell, Abbott Nutrition general manager and division vice president, Healthy Living. "Now, enjoying a ZonePerfect bar does more than keep people fueled; it supports the development of future generations of artists and music lovers with the help of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and Matt Nathanson."

"We are incredibly honored to have Abbott Nutrition and its ZonePerfect(R) brand contribute to the Foundation," said Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation Paul Cothran. "With their help, we will be able to continue to raise awareness about the importance of a musical education in a child's life, and ensure that additional children have access to the benefits of music study."
