SOMERVILLE, Mass., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Echo Nest, a music intelligence platform providing data-driven solutions to the digital music industry, today announced the launch of its Fanalytics platform. Fanalytics applies patented web crawling, machine learning and semantic web technology to help artists and labels better understand, locate and build their online fan base.

The Echo Nest's Fanalytics platform is based on technology developed over twelve years at MIT, Berkeley and Columbia university by the company's two PhD co-founders, Brian Whitman and Tristan Jehan.
