The Smoking New Sounds of Pearl Records Group and Filmworks, Corp.
LOS ANGELES, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Kris Lamans, CEO and Executive Producer of Pearl Records Group and Filmworks, Corp., located in Hollywood, California, announced that he and his business partner, Sonja Dunson, Executive Producer and actress of Sonja's feature film "You Can't Buy Love," are rolling out four major releases June 15, 2009 on his and Sonja's labels, Pearl Records Group and Filmworks, Corp. and SDP Music. "You Can't Buy Love" is a motion picture written, produced and starred in by Sonja Dunson. Kris said that his album "Stay With Me," Lisa Rine's Album "That Was Him," Theresa Bruneau's album "In The Moment" and the soundtrack from the motion picture "You Can't Buy Love" marks the beginning of a series of musical projects that will be released quarterly on Pearl Records Group and Filmworks, Corp. and SDP Musical Labels.
"This is the first step," Kris explained, "toward establishing the marketing for his weekly musical television series "Musical Heritage USA" where the label, Pearl Records Group will market its CD and DVD musical products for sale. To this end the labels have established a marketing, manufacturing and distribution deal with Discmakers and CD Baby, two worldwide musical marketing, manufacturing and distribution companies, where consumers can purchase the various products on the internet."
Kris Lamans, former second tenor of the "World Famous Platters," CEO and Executive Producer of his own record label "Pearl Records Group and Filmworks, Corp.," grew up in a musical family of eleven, including his mother, Pearl and his dad, Tamadge Armstrong Sr. in Northeast Louisiana, a small Southern cotton town of Mer Rouge, Louisiana. Kris is the seventh child of nine siblings and is the owner of Pearl Records Group with his partner Kevin Dorsey, President of the label.
Kris Lamans' experiences in the entertainment industry are quite diversified as an administrator, educator, recording artist, executive producer, producer, songwriter and screenwriter. Currently, Kris is President/CEO of his own motion picture and television companies: Kris Lamans Productions, LLC and ICONS USA CORPORATION. As a recording artist, he was signed several years ago to RCA as an exclusive songwriter with his co-songwriter Karen Welch. While being signed to RCA, Kris and Karen wrote approximately 250 songs for Rutri and Dunbar Music, RCA's publishing division. He was produced on two albums by Harvey Fuqua, lead singer of the Moonglows. "Heat On the Delta" and "Musical Heritage USA," where Kris is executive producer and screenwriter of his feature motion picture and musical weekly variety television program that are currently in pre-production and will be shot on location in September 2009 in Mer Rouge, Louisiana and Canton, Mississippi. "Heat On the Delta will be distributed worldwide in the spring of 2010. Musical Heritage USA" will begin airing on January 1, 2010 on a major network.
Kris Lamans is a graduate of Grambling University with a B.S. in communication and a Master of Fine Arts from Lamar University. Educationally, Kris has been employed as a speech and drama instructor at several major high schools in Beaumont, Texas and Los Angeles, California. In communication, Kris has worked as a co-anchor of news and weather for KBMT Beaumont, Texas, and starred in two motion pictures: "One of The Missing" and "The Evil; Alter." Kris is secured in the multimedia Entertainment Industry.
Kris Lamans' partner, Sonja Dunson, producer, actress, writer, former beauty queen, publisher and speech pathologist, introduced as the female Spike Lee, became the first in history of two producers to receive financing of her motion picture "You Can't Buy Love" from the Small Business Administration. Sonja says, "Anyone who is in love, ever been in love or looking for love has to buy her soundtrack album 'You Can't Buy Love.'"
As results of the SBA financing, "You Can't Buy Love" was produced and starred in by Sonja Dunson. Sonja met Kris Lamans, who is the recording artists with Linda McCrary on the "You Can't Buy Love" soundtrack is being released in national major markets nationwide on June 29th 2009.
Sonja was born and reared in Detroit, Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and was a series regular on three major television series and in over 22 commercials. Her big break came when the SBA decided to underwrite her movie project. Sonja diligently submitted her movie project and met all of the requirements and in less than a month, she was approved to film an interracial love story she had written entitled "You Can't Buy Love." Sonja is the Executive Producer, Producer, co-star, co-casting director, location director and she co-wrote the title song in the movie with Kris Lamans "So Much Feeling In Your Love." During the day Sonja is a speech pathologist for the Los Angeles School System and during the evening, she produced and acted in her movie. People in the music business have convinced Sonja that she is a strong contender for the Grammy's and the Academy Awards nomination for "So Much Feeling In Your Love."
Pearl Records Group and SDP Music is a new label but not new to "The New Smoking Sounds" created by Kris. The four albums being released present new sounds of music with a today's beat combined with R&B, hip hop, jazz, urban and today's country. Kris Lamans, Kevin Dorsey and Jimmy Hunter, have helped developed Kris' album, Lisa's and Theresa Bruneau's R&B, hip hop, urban and Lisa's own style of country-pop.
