WEGENER Vice President to Speak at 2009 GV Expo in 'Digital Signage Showcase'

Kamy Merithew will present "Transforming a Video Production Cost Center into a Revenue Generating Unit"

DULUTH, Ga., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio, and data distribution networks worldwide today announced that WEGENER Vice President of Marketing, Kamy Merithew, has been selected to speak at the "Digital Signage Showcase" session during this year's Government Video Technology Expo (GV Expo). The GV Expo will be held December 3-4 at the Walter E Washington Center, in Washington, DC.

The "Digital Signage Showcase" session will take place on Thursday, December 4 at 9 am. During the session, Merithew will present methods and examples of transforming video production cost centers into revenue generating units through digital signage technology. Merithew will discuss launching a video signage network, examining the trade-offs between outsourcing and in-house management methods. Session attendees will learn ways to expand the capabilities of their networks beyond digital signage into corporate communications and training through centralized network management techniques.

Merithew focuses on strategic planning and product marketing/management in her current role at WEGENER. Prior to joining WEGENER, Merithew spent nine years with Motorola in its Broadband Communications Division (previously General Instrument), where she served as product marketing manager, system design engineer and embedded real-time software developer. Merithew holds an MBA from Emory University and a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Communications Theory) from the University of California in San Diego.
