Ned L. Mountain to Discuss the Hidden Potential of IPTV Set Top Boxes to Support Targeted Advertising
DULUTH, Ga., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced that WEGENER President and COO Ned L. Mountain will be a featured speaker at "Perspectives on IPTV," an all-day workshop being held November 11, 2008 from 9-3 p.m. in conjunction with TelcoTV 2008.
Now in its seventh year, TelcoTV 2008 is the largest and longest running telecommunications industry conference and exhibition focusing on TV and IPTV, as well as mobile video services. The conference will be held from November 11-13, 2008 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County, CA.
The "Perspectives on IPTV" workshop is being sponsored by Conklin Intracom, a leading provider of IPTV and content delivery solutions. Conklin Intracom is a WEGENER customer and integrates the WEGENER SMD-515 and SMD-515-PVR set top boxes within its fs/cdn(TM) solution. During the workshop, Mountain will be a panelist at a session entitled, "New Technologies in STBs and Home Networking Equipment for the IPTV Environment." The panel, scheduled from 10:20 -11:30 a.m. in Anaheim Convention Center Room 204C, will discuss a wide range of topics including new technologies and will compare the various networking architectures. During the panel discussion, Mountain will address "Tapping the Hidden Potential in IPTV Set Top Boxes with Built-in PVRs" and discuss ways to use existing technology for targeted advertising.
