Big/Little Brother Match To Be Featured on Speed Channel

Big/Little Brother Match To Be Featured on Speed Channel

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- A North Bay Area (California) Big and Little Brother will be featured on a nationally televised sports program. Logan Songer and his 12-year-old Little Brother, Jordan, will be special guests on PINKS ALL OUTTAKES, the second highest-rated show on the Speed Channel, where hundreds of the best drag racers compete for bragging rights and cash.

The special day came courtesy Los Angeles Guild member, producer Linda Rheinstein, On Air On Line and the iDoggiebag Foundation.

The segment will feature interviews with Logan and Jordan as well as scenes from their day-long excursion at Napa Valley's Infineon Raceway. The pair recalls being left in the dust and quake of a dragster with a gulf stream jet engine; pushing a car towards the finish line; hanging out with a cool videographer named MJ; and talking to the weekend racers about how they built their homemade creations. Logan and Jordan even got to take a few laps in a gigantic three-wheel motorcycle. They said they received the full VIP star treatment, complete with Speed TV and PINKS swag bags.

"I'm 6'7," Logan said. "The top of the wheels came up to my nose. And it probably got up to about 35 miles an hour!"

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay matched Jordan and Logan, a 27-year-old Realtor(R), nearly two years ago. A University of California Davis graduate, Logan says he had an ideal childhood that included memorable outings with his mother, father, siblings and extended family. He wanted to share similar experiences with a child who might not otherwise have such opportunities.

But the PINKS ALL OUTTAKES day at the races was an experience neither Logan nor Jordan could have imagined they would get to share. It came when a producer asked to include Big Brothers Big Sisters in an upcoming segment.

The exposure comes at a perfect time for Big Brothers Big Sisters, a movement focused on changing how our children grow up in America. Proven to improve the odds for vulnerable children, the organization recently launched a Campaign for Men. More than 70 percent of the children waiting for a Big Brother are boys, but only three out of every 10 inquiries about volunteering come from men.

"It was an amazing experience," Logan said. "Jordan, who loves cars, is still beaming and so excited about how much fun we had. He really deserves it, too. He is so polite and always says, 'thank you.' His mom is doing a good job raising him."

Logan said when he asked Jordan what he enjoyed most about the day, he replied, "... mostly, hanging out with you."

The program is scheduled to air on the Speed Channel (www.speedTV.com), Wednesday, Nov 26, at 9:30pm Eastern and 10:30pm West Coast time. Check your local Cable and Satellite Provider for the Channel.
