Sabrina Bryan of 'The Cheetah Girls' and 'Dancing With The Stars' Is Back With The Second Installment of BYOU: A Hit Exercise DVD For Girls
BYOU2 TEACHES GIRLS TO BE HAPPY AND HEALTHY USING HOT NEW DANCE MOVES TO HELP THEM GET FIT
DVD AVAILABLE JANUARY 13th 2009
NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dancer, singer and actress, SABRINA BRYAN, has a very important message of empowerment for girls -- be happy, be healthy, be fit -- BYOU!
After the success of the first BYOU DVD, Bryan is back with BYOU2 -- a high energy dance and exercise DVD aimed at tween girls. Bryan, star of The Disney Channel's "The Cheetah Girls" and recent alumni of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," wants to send a message to girls that no matter what their body type, everyone can be healthy and have fun getting in shape.
BYOU2 contains 70 minutes of heart-pumping strength and cardio moves using hip hop and Bollywood inspired dance combinations. Bryan and her friends take the viewer through each move slowly, gradually speeding them up to a full blast workout. The DVD also includes special behind-the-scenes footage of the making of BYOU2 as well as a section called "BREAL & BYOU" where NANCY REDD, best-selling author of BODY DRAMA, gives girls a look at the tricks behind celebrity photos.
"BYOU is more than just a fitness routine, it's a mental and physical revolution that will erase your 'body drama' and help you to get in shape and be confident all while having tons of fun!" says Redd.
BYOU2 is aimed at tween girls from 8-14 years old. In addition to an alarming obesity rate among children in America, studies have shown that girls tend to lose their self confidence during these years, developing negative feelings about their looks and their bodies. With a very large and faithful following of fans in this age group, Bryan is delighted to use her talents as a performer to create an entertaining learning tool to raise self-esteem.
"I hear from many girls who feel pressure to look a certain way and who lack a strong self image to just be themselves," says Bryan, who is backed up on the routines by a posse of girls of different ethnic backgrounds with a variety of body shapes and sizes. "I'm very excited about BYOU2. Being yourself is all about being comfortable in your own skin and nothing makes you feel more confident than dancing."
Moving her body comes naturally to Bryan who, as seen in last season's "Dancing With The Stars," excels in all types of dance, including hip-hop, ballet, tap and now Bollywood. Bryan is joined on BYOU2 by RUJUTA "RUJ" VAIDYA, a well known Bollywood choreographer. Vaidya has more than 10 years of experience in Bollywood. Her mentor is the legendary Bollywood choreographer, Saroj Khan.
Director and choreographer FATIMA ROBINSON has been heralded by The New York Times as "one of the most sought after hip-hop and popular music choreographer in the world." Her choreography credits include films such as "Dreamgirls," the 2007 Academy Awards, award-winning commercials for The Gap, I-Pod, Verizon, Motorola and Burberry and music videos for the likes of Rihanna, Prince, Fergie, and The Black Eyed Peas.
The talent behind the BYOU franchise also includes DEBRA MARTIN CHASE, Academy Award and Emmy nominated motion picture and television producer, who is the Co-Creator and Producer of both BYOU DVDs. Chase's credits include "The Princess Diaries," "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "The Cheetah Girls" movie franchises. In 2008, The Hollywood Reporter crowned her "The Queen of Tween."
Also lending her expertise to the project is Nancy Redd. In addition to being an author, Redd is Guest Editor of Dove's MSN.com site, a self-esteem advisor to Fitness Magazine and an AOL Wellness Coach.
Bryan is committed to reaching every girl possible with BYOU's message and essential motivators for tweens: a sense of Power, Freedom, Fun and Belonging.
Born and raised in Yorba Linda, California, Sabrina Bryan made her acting debut in the television movie "Mrs. Santa Claus" with Angela Lansbury, and also appeared on "The Bold and the Beautiful," as well as Disney Channel's Original Movies "The Cheetah Girls," "The Cheetah Girls 2," and "The Cheetah Girls One World." She is currently working on a solo album, and is also co-writing the book, "Princess of Gossip," with top young adult author Julia DeVillers. It is scheduled to be released October 2008.
Starting this Fall, Bryan will be starring in The Cheetah Girls One World, a 45-date nationwide concert tour.
