Clinton County Sheriff Fizer and Clinton County Commissioner Stewart Dispute Argosy Ads on WLW (Cincinnati) Bill Cunningham Program
Both Say That Ads By Fraternal Order of Police Are False and Misleading
CINCINNATI, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinton County Sheriff Ralph D. Fizer, Jr. and Clinton County Commissioner David Stewart appeared on the Bill Cunningham Show on WLW (700) radio on Friday (10/24) in Cincinnati to discuss their support for Issue 6 Ohio's Resort Casino and discuss the false and misleading ads by the opposition paid for by Argosy Casino.
Specifically, both Sheriff Fizer and Commissioner Stewart disputed the ads attacking Issue 6 (paid by Penn/Argosy) that include those featuring the Fraternal Order of Police claiming that there will be no regulation of the casino and that criminals and felons can be hired to work at the casino.
"That is just absolutely untrue. There is one percent set aside to create a state gaming commission that would oversee the casino and license every worker at the casino. There is no state gaming commission that will license a criminal to work at the casino," said Commissioner Stewart.
"Most of the Fraternal Order of Police both in our area and surrounding communities that I have talked to support Issue 6. I don't believe that most of the FOP members are behind those ads. There is strong support from both sheriffs and police. The fact is that there will be no criminals who will work at the casino. As Sheriff of Clinton County, I will make sure of that. It won't happen in my county," said Sheriff Fizer.
The program discussed the impacts of the casino/resort on both Clinton County and all of Ohio.
"I support Issue 6 for jobs, tax revenue, and more. I believe that the people of Ohio should support this to help the entire state," said Sheriff Fizer.
Commissioner Stewart said, "I am completely behind Issue 6. I am very upset that the leaders of the state have not stood up to support Issue 6 and allow an out of state casino (Argosy) to try to stop Ohio jobs and Ohio tax revenues and keep them in Indiana."
