Boardfest Snowboard Rail Jam Goes Coed for Labor Day Blizzard at the Beach; Mountain High Ramps Up Presence With Snow Village

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California's original and largest oceanfront snowboard rail jam is going coed in 2008. Boardfest's third annual Blizzard at the Beach will feature more snow, more obstacles, more drama, more carnage and now, world-class male athletes competing alongside females. Boardfest is held over Labor Day Weekend, August 30 to September 1, at the Huntington Beach Pier. Information is available at http://www.myspace.com/boardfest.

Boardfest's Blizzard at the Beach is presented by Mountain High and features an invitation-only field of elite athletes doing battle over two days. With music blaring and the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, competition is held adjacent to the iconic pier on a massive, three-story high platform covered with 50 tons of freshly blown snow. Features and obstacles include a fun box, rails, automobile and quarter-pipe.

The Mountain High Snow Village will feature interactive exhibits, athlete demos, autograph signings, giveaways and live entertainment on the nearby stage. "We're excited to embrace Boardfest and help ramp up the snowboard rail jam," said Mountain High's John McColly. "Including guys in the mix and creating a snow village adds a whole new dimension for spectators and riders alike."

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Boardfest reaffirms its position as the largest youth event of its kind in the U.S. Where action sports, music and life collide, Boardfest showcases something for every level of involvement, synergistically weaving surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding competitions, fashion shows, empowerment activities, live bands, an arcade and free attractions. More than 100,000 spectators, primarily tweens, teens and young adults attend over three days.

Several unique sponsorship opportunities remain available.
