Laeiszhalle: m-Konzerte 2008/2009 With Stars and Subscriptions
HAMBURG, Germany, April 1/PRNewswire/ -- The seventh season of the m-Konzerte of the Laeiszhalle - Musikhalle
Hamburg presents seven subscriptions, countless concert highlights and
international stars such as Renée Fleming, Rolando Villazón, Ian Bostridge,
Katia and Marielle Labèque, Fazil Say, Gabriela Montero, Esa-Pekka Salonen
and Christoph Eschenbach. The climax of the season is a concert version of
the "Threepenny Opera" with a top cast.
>>Nordic Concerts<<, developed within a cooperation of the most important
North European concert halls, bring international orchestras to Hamburg -
Philharmonia Orchestra with its new principal conductor, Esa-Pekka Salonen,
or the Orchestre de Paris under Christoph Eschenbach.
The cycle >>Grosse Solisten<< has a strong baroque accent - Emmanuel
Pahud, Jonathan Manson and Trevor Pinnock present works by J S Bach, Ian
Bostridge and Northern Sinfonia present a Handel Programm and the italian
Baroque specialists >>il Giardino Armonico<< accompany Bernarda Fink in her
selection of Monteverdi cantatas. The legendary Hagen String Quartet follows
close on the heels of the Alban Berg Quartett's 2007 success as guest string
quartet in the Grosser Saal of the Laeiszhalle.
>>Small Hall - Great Music<< is the motto for a series featuring such
charismatic duos as Patricia Kopatchinskaja/Fazil Say, Gautier
Capuçon/Gabriela Montero, Håkan Hardenberger/Colin Currie performing exciting
programmes in the Kleiner Saal of the Laeiszhalle.
For the first time the >>Rising Stars<< come to Hamburg, sent on an
international tour on the strength of recommendations by the European Concert
Hall Organisation.
Beyond the diverse subscription series there is the traditional spring
concert of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and two further special events:
Rolando Villazón devotes an evening to works of Handel, accompanied by the
Gabrieli Consort & Players, directed by Paul McCreesh. The season ends with a
concert performance of Kurt Weill's >>Threepenny Opera<< with a topnotch cast
led by Ian Bostridge, Hannah Schwarz, Dorothea Röschmann and Angelika
Kirchschlager.
All concerts are available as subscriptions except for these last three
concerts. All subscription-holders have an added Elbphilharmonie-Bonus: When
the programme for Hamburg's new concert hall is revealed, each and every
subscription-holder will receive a personal subscription offer modelled on
their own music preferences.
