Country Music Stars Help Play MPE(TM) Spoof 'Mac vs. PC' Ads in 'Play MPE(TM) Single vs. CD' Spots Debuting at the Country Radio Seminar
Joe Nichols, Jimmy Wayne and Julianne Hough Guest Star in Play MPE(TM) Spots
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Announced from The Country Radio Seminar: Destiny Media Technologies (BULLETIN BOARD: DSNY) is pleased to announce that the radio and recording industry's global standard for secure digital distribution of pre-release music to radio, Play MPE(TM), has teamed up with some of Country Music's hottest young stars to spoof the now infamous "Mac vs. PC" ads, in its "Play MPE(TM) Single vs. CD Single" campaign. The new ad spots preceded the "New Faces Showcase" at the Country Music Seminar in Nashville, TN on Friday, March 7th.
The ad spots play off the characterization in the original Apple commercials, portraying the CD Single as the stodgy and antiquated Poindexter to the hip, young trendsetter of The Play MPE(TM) Single. The humorous sketches make light of the issues that come along with traditional CD distribution, including skipping, pirated copies and shipping problems, much to the chagrin of the oblivious CD character.
Celebrity guest appearances include Jimmy Wayne from Big Machine Records, Joe Nichols from Universal Records South singing his chart topping single "It Ain't No Crime," and Mercury Records Nashville's newest singing sensation and "Dancing With The Stars" winner Julianne Hough.
"The Country Music industry has supported Play MPE(TM) as the sole digital delivery service of choice," said Dean Ernst, VP Operations. "This year we felt we could have some fun with our version of the Apple ads with 'Play MPE(TM) Single vs. the CD' commercials at the annual Country Music Seminar. We are extremely grateful for the time and support of these artists and labels who helped us put together the ad spots."
