Olympus Pictures, LLC Announces Expansion of Development and Production Activities

Olympus Pictures hires Serenade Films Producer to Develop and Produce Indie Films

MORRISTOWN, N.J. and SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Olympus Pictures, LLC announces an expansion of its motion picture operations with the hiring of Serenade Films Producer Leslie Urdang. Under Leslie's leadership as Senior Vice President, Head of Production, Olympus Pictures will finance the development of feature projects at a range of budget levels and continue to finance and co-finance lower budget films.

Olympus Pictures recently executive produced "The Narrows" with Serenade Films, an indie drama starring Kevin Zegers, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Sophia Bush slated for release in 2008 and produced and co-financed "Adam" starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne, which wrapped principal photography in January 2008. Olympus Pictures is also affiliated with Olympus Theatricals, LLC, an independent commercial theater producer which recently co-produced the hit Broadway production "The 39 Steps" currently playing at the Roundabout Theater Company.

Urdang's producing credits include Michael Cuesta's "Twelve and Holding," "Game 6" with Michael Keaton and Robert Downey, Jr. "The Great New Wonderful" with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Edie Falco, Tony Shalhoub, and Stephen Colbert, "The Narrows," and "Adam." Urdang also worked with Fox Searchlight producing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Kevin Kline and Michelle Pfeiffer and for Robert Redford's Wildwood Enterprises where she developed Walter Salles' "Motorcycle Diaries" and produced "People I Know" starring Al Pacino. She is also the founder and producing director of New York Stage and Film, a company that has been developing new works for over 20 years and has produced hundreds of writers including John Patrick Shanley, Zach Helm, Aaron Sorkin, Steve Martin, Beth Henley, David Marshall Grant, and Steven Sater.

Geoff Linville, Director of Production and Madeline Shapiro, Producer's Assistant at Serenade Films will continue in their positions with the new company.
