Uber.Com Launches 'You Bring The Talent', An Online Search For The World's Hottest New Music Talent
Winner gets the musician's dream - Major Label demo, Complete promo package, and House of Blues concert.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Uber.com, in conjunction with A&R Worldwide's MUSEXPO, Atlantic Records, Peer Music Publishing Rebel Group/ADA Distribution and The Agency Group, announced the launch of "You Bring the Talent," an online search for the hottest new music talent.
"You Bring the Talent" is an opportunity for undiscovered musicians and performers to win an unsigned band's proverbial 'dream come true'. The winner gets a major label demo deal, publishing, distribution and booking opportunities. The prize package also includes booking assistance from The Agency Group, a guaranteed distribution arrangement with the Rebel Group at ADA Distributors, and a chance to have their material licensed through the Peer Music Publishing, who is donating the studio and engineer for the demo. The competition will all culminate at MUSEXPO, one of the most important media convergence conferences in the entertainment industry. The winners will be flown to Los Angeles to perform at the world renowned House of Blues for the attendees of MUSEXPO in April 2008.
Musicians join the contest by creating an Uber.com profile and submitting a song for consideration at the "You Bring the Talent" contest page. Online votes will narrow the playing field down to the Top 100 for the music industry panel of judges to review. Judges include representatives from Atlantic, Uber.com, Peer Music Publishing, Rebel Group/ADA, The Agency Group and A&R Worldwide, as well as celebrity guest judges.
Uber.com, a boutique, online social network, has established itself as a tasteful and remarkably inspiring alternative to other networking giants. Uber.com enables musicians to express themselves and connect with the industry by creating whole and unique websites, as opposed to garden-variety user profiles. Labels have also been taking note of the shift within the user- generated, Web 2.0 world, to smaller, richer- content networks like Uber.com, where the focus is on creativity and self-expression now providing a perfect platform for labels to scout new talent. "I'm very excited to work with Uber.com," said Andy Karp, Executive VP/Head of A&R for Atlantic Records. "This is a unique opportunity for upcoming artists to interact with very experienced music people and to build their careers."
