KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh Partners with WeatherBug to Offer Viewers Live, Neighborhood-Level Weather Reporting On-air and Online
Daily Newscasts to Feature Live WeatherBug Information from Local School Districts and Locations From Across the Viewing Area
PITTSBURGH and GERMANTOWN, Md., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- KDKA-TV, a CBS owned and operated station in Pittsburgh, and WeatherBug(R), the leading provider of live, local weather information services, announced today a partnership to offer viewers live streaming weather information from area schools and downtown locations. KDKA-TV Chief Meteorologist, Jeff Verszyla, will launch WeatherBug on Monday in the 4:00pm newscast.

Verszyla and the KDKA-TV weather team will incorporate live weather data and video into their daily weather coverage from 45 WeatherBug Tracking Stations, located atop schools and public buildings throughout the Pittsburgh viewing area. Additionally, KDKA-TV will tap into the national network of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations for live weather conditions and severe weather coverage from around the nation.
Viewers will also be able to download the WeatherBug icon to their desktop at http://www.kdka.com/ so they can receive customized weather information and severe weather alerts.
