eMotive Communications Unveils World's First Push Video Ringers For Skype Extras
Partners with Universal Music Group to Provide RingJam(TM) 2.0 Users with Access to World's Largest Digital Music Catalog
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- eMotive Communications, Inc., the leader in real-time, interactive multimedia applications for VoIP and mobile networks, today launched RingJam 2.0 for Skype Extras. The company also partnered with Universal Music Group (UMG), the world's leading music company, to give RingJam 2.0 users access to UMG's market-leading digital music catalog. This features chart-topping artists including Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, U2, Fergie, Abba and Ella Fitzgerald, among thousands of others.
Also as part of the RingJam 2.0 launch, Skype Extra users will now be able to call friends and announce themselves using video clips provided by Guinness World Records, Fun Little Movies and StupidVideos.com.
"We are delighted to partner with eMotive during the launch of RingJam 2.0," stated Rio Caraeff, Executive Vice President of eLabs, Universal Music Group. "UMG is committed to remaining at the forefront of supporting new technologies that further enhance and personalize the musical experience for fans everywhere."
"eMotive's founders have always been on the forefront of creating applications for new media markets," said Anthony Stonefield, CEO of eMotive Communications. "Video ringers have not taken off in any market around the world. Once users are able to customize and push video ringers on any media, this will flip the call-to-ringtone dynamic and re-ignite the marketplace."
RingJam for Skype Extras follows the highly successful RingJacker. The real-time, push-media application lets callers choose what song, sound or video they want to announce themselves with when calling their buddies and relatives.
"eMotive is pioneering peer-to-peer push media, and RingJam is the ultimate form of self-expression," added Stonefield. "This global agreement with UMG is a huge boost for content personalization, giving Skype Extras users an unparallel source of exciting content. For the music industry and film studios, RingJam opens up considerable P2P viral marketing opportunities."
RingJam for Skype Extras is free to use and can be downloaded from the RingJam.com storefront, from the Skype Web site (https://extras.skype.com/) or from within the Skype software.
