Donating VIZIO HDTVs to Dr. Phil's Entire Studio Audience of Families Who Lost Homes

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the true spirit of the holiday season, VIZIO, America's number one LCD HDTV company, and reigning pro football league MVP, LaDainian Tomlinson have joined forces to benefit and honor the individuals, families and firefighters affected by the tragic fires that ravaged the Southern California area during recent months. This afternoon, Tomlinson appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, addressing the studio audience and announcing that through his Tomlinson Touching Lives Foundation, VIZIO and his foundation would donate VX32L 32-inch LCD high definition televisions to every member of the studio audience, comprised solely of families and individuals whose homes and possessions were lost in the fires. In addition, on Tuesday afternoon, Tomlinson hosted a special event at Kit Carson Park in San Diego to pay tribute to firefighters, sheriffs, doctors and nurses who risked their lives battling the fires.

"My family was evacuated during the fires, and while we were fortunate that we didn't lose our home, I certainly understand how devastating this situation has been for so many innocent families who weren't so fortunate," said Tomlinson. "The bravery of the firefighters and sheriffs who risked their lives, and the perseverance of the families and individuals affected by this tragedy are things that my friends at VIZIO and I felt compelled to pay tribute to and support through my foundation."

When approached by VIZIO, Tomlinson, the national spokesman for the HDTV leader, jumped at the opportunity to support the cause through his appearance on the Dr. Phil Show on VIZIO's behalf where 300 Vizio HDTVs were donated through his foundation. VIZIO in turn, stepped forth to lend further support, donating additional high definition televisions to the tribute event Tomlinson organized through his foundation for the First Responders to the San Diego fires.
