KS95, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club will 'Stuff the Bus' for The Salvation Army
ROSEVILLE, Minn., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- KS95, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club will "Stuff the Bus" Dec. 7-9 for The Salvation Army's Toy Shop, which provides thousands of toys to low-income families.
Stuff the Bus is a toy collection drive in which school buses visit 18 metro Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores, where KS95 personalities encourage shoppers to fill the buses with new toys.
KS95 on-air talent will tour in two First Student Inc. school buses all three days of the toy drive. A complete Stuff the Bus tour schedule can be found at http://www.ks95.com/.
The public can donate new, unwrapped toys at the buses or in toy collection bins located at 30 metro area Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores until Dec. 23. Stuff the Bus donations go to Salvation Army Toy Shops, where needy families pick up free gifts during Christmastime.
More than 50 Salvation Army volunteers will unload the jam-packed buses Dec. 9 at The Salvation Army headquarters in Roseville (address at top) beginning at about 8 p.m., an effort that will last well into the night.
Additional Stuff the Bus partners include Dunn Bros. Coffee, Jennie-O, Malt-O-Meal and Pearson's Salted Nut Roll.
"The Salvation Army is thankful for our partners, whose efforts will help us distribute at least 150,000 toys to about 30,000 kids this Christmas season," said Major Paul Fleeman, commander of The Twin Cities Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army provides 1,100 hot meals each day, houses more than 700 people each night and is the largest provider of Christmas toys in the metro area. Donations can be made by visiting a Red Kettle near you, calling 800-SAL-ARMY, mailing a check to 2445 Prior Ave, Roseville, MN 55113, or online at http://www.thesalarmy.org/.
