Premier Guitar Festivals Sponsors Local Festivals With Eye on Nurturing New Talent

Premier Guitar Festivals Sponsors Local Festivals With Eye on Nurturing New Talent

BOSTON, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Premier Guitar Festivals will sponsor several Boston-based events as part of their on-going commitment to music education, young artist development, and "all-things music related." Upcoming sponsorships include:

-- WFNX Disorientation Festival, Sept. 8, Bank of America Pavilion;
-- Locobazooka Festival, Sept. 9, at the Tweeter Center for the Performing
Arts.

According to Premier Guitar Festival President Kevin Kopec, "Our organization is deeply committed to promoting the next generation of artists who draw inspiration from these annual events. Through these sponsorships and our own festival series, we hope to encourage young musicians to experiment, explore, and create new music that will not only challenge the status quo, but excite and inspire us all."

Kopec continues that at next week's Premier Guitar Festival Boston, the Little Kids Rock organization will also host seminars for burgeoning young musicians. Little Kids Rock is for kids (and adults) who've never played guitar, but have always wanted to learn. The organization knows that music is a critical component of a first-rate education and strives to inspire children to express themselves through music, which builds creativity, confidence, and self-esteem -- all of which are vital to success in school and beyond.

Supporting that commitment, Premier Guitar recently joined forces with TrueFire, a leading online guitar-playing instruction company, to extend the opportunity for learning to young players and support primary school music education. Instruction is available at all skill levels and for any age.

Together the two entities formed Premier Clinic, a tool offered at http://www.premierguitar.com/, the Web site of Premier Guitar magazine. It offers free online instruction in several different genres and finger styles. In addition, young players can extend their learning at http://www.truefire.com/, which hosts access to many instructional CDs and DVDs.
