Radio Frequency Identification Symposium to be Held at Baylor University

Radio Frequency Identification Symposium to be Held at Baylor University

WACO, Texas, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ From September 27-28, 2007, Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business will conduct the third-annual "RFID Integrated Supply Chains" Symposium, about the use of Radio Frequency Identification in supply chains.

The symposium, which is sponsored by Sloan Industry Studies, will feature professors from various universities discussing how RFID applications are changing the landscape of integrated supply chains, including the strategies and implementation used to accomplish this.

"Although RFID is decades old, renewed interest in commercial applications is making RFID the fastest growing technology for supply chain operations," said Dr. Pedro Reyes, professor of Operations Management, coordinator of the event. "The use of RFID will eventually become the standard for managing supply chain operations - much like bar codes today."

This year's keynote speakers are Mr. Mark Johnson, President of RFID Tribe, and Mr. John M. Crossno, CEO of SAVR Communications, Inc. There will also be a videotaped address from Texas Senator John Cornyn provided for the event.

All events will occur on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center at the Hankamer School of Business on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas.
