In the news release, Akron-Canton Airport Wants You to Pack Your Bags for a Mystery Trip, issued 18-Sep-2007 by Akron-Canton Regional Airport over PR Newswire, we are advised by the company that the first paragraph, second sentence, should read "You could be whisked away to sunny Florida, Boston, or one of six non stop destinations" rather than "You could be whisked away to sunny Cancun or Boston, the cradle of liberty" as originally issued inadvertently.
We are also advised that the second paragraph, first sentence should read "Just by attending the party, a winner and their guest will fly away to one of six mystery destinations: Denver, Boston, New York, Vegas, Orlando or Tampa" rather than "Just by attending the party, a winner and their guest will fly away to one of seven mystery destinations: Denver, Cancun, Boston, New York, Vegas, Orlando or Tampa" as originally issued inadvertently.
The complete, corrected release follows:
Akron-Canton Airport Wants You to Pack Your Bags for a Mystery Trip
Come party with Cool Cleveland and stay for the live concert
GREEN, Ohio, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Come with your bags packed! You could be whisked away to sunny Florida, Boston, or one of six non stop destinations, when one lucky winner (two travelers) will be randomly selected to depart that evening during the first ever Cool Cleveland/Akron-Canton Airport "Pack Your Bags" party September 28, 2007.
Just by attending the party, a winner and their guest will fly away to one of six mystery destinations: Denver, Boston, New York, Vegas, Orlando or Tampa and receive two round-trip tickets and overnight accommodations for two (Friday and Saturday nights, return trip on Sunday) compliments of Cool Cleveland, Akron-Canton Airport and AirTran Airways.
The party begins at 5:30 p.m. with an open bar (beer and wine) and delectable hors d'oeuvres prepared to perfection: Salmon Pinwheels, Cajun Chicken Puffs, New England Crab Cakes, Stuffed Mushrooms with Goat Cheese Crust, Zucchini Napoleon and Steak and Portabello Satays, all provided by the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant & Banquet Center.
But even if you don't win the trip, the party continues with a concert by de SoL (http://www.desolmusic.com/), a bilingual-flavored, Jersey-based Latin rock band, in the airport museum hangar, MAPS (Military Aviation Preservation Society) at 7:30 p.m., surrounded by awesome WWII fighter planes. The band is provided by 91.3FM The Summit, Akron-Canton's classic rock/pop/acoustic/alternative radio station.
Do you live in Cleveland but don't feel like driving to the party? Grab the complimentary Cool Cleveland bus, departing from the Mallorca Restaurant on W. 9th Street. The bus departs Cleveland for Akron at 4:30 p.m., returning after the concert. Park near the Mallorca Restaurant on W. 9th St. and look for the Rockin' Cleveland bus, Cleveland's premiere party bus service.
"What's not to like about Latin-infused live music, a free trip and a great airport," said airport marketing and communications Kristie VanAuken. "We want to throw the party of the year; that's why we've partnered with Cool Cleveland and 91.3 The Summit. These guys know how to throw an awesome party that you won't want to miss."
Area business people will gather prior to the event for a roundtable discussion with the Cleveland Plus Marketing Alliance from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cleveland Plus (Akron +Canton +Youngstown) is an entirely new way to look at Northeast Ohio -- as one united region leveraging the strengths of Akron, Canton and Youngstown to compete for new businesses, leisure travelers, conventions and meetings. They are seeking feedback and ideas on ways the Cleveland Plus brand campaign can help area businesses and our region.
These events are made possible by our party partners including AirTran Airways, Canton Chair Rental, WAPS-FM 91.3, The Summit, the 356th Fighter Group Restaurant and Banquet Center, Maps Air Museum and Woodsy's Audio/Visual.
