Background: 22 year old Phil Thompson, an award winning composer,
honors composition student at the MacPhail Center for the
Arts and recent University of Minnesota graduate, has a
deep commitment to using his musical talents as a way of
helping others. He composed Final Ride Home as a tribute
to those whose lives were lost as a result of the I-35
bridge collapse.

Brookfield Properties, one of North America's largest
commercial real estate companies, has invited Thompson to
perform in City Center's atrium (one of their four
properties in Minneapolis; others include Gaviidae Common,
33 South Sixth Street Tower and the Dain Rauscher Plaza)
as a way of increasing awareness of the fund raising he's
undertaken.

Visual elements of the performance:

-- Heavy skyway lunchtime traffic from downtown's
185,000 office workers.
-- Thompson will perform on the first level of the
newly renovated 5 story City Center Atrium.
-- Thompson's own website
(http://www.philthompsonmusic.com/) and YouTube
feature the music choreographed with still images
of the bridge collapse.
