David Goldhill Named President and Chief Executive Officer, GSN

Former Universal Television Group President Assumes New Post August 1

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- GSN announced today the appointment of David Goldhill as President and Chief Executive Officer effective August 1. The cable network, co-owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and Liberty Media Corporation ("Liberty"), is distributed to over 64 million homes. In his new post, Goldhill will be responsible for all aspects of GSN's business including its expanding digital-platform efforts.

"GSN is a well-distributed network with an established audience and strong support from cable and satellite providers," said Goldhill on his appointment. "It is also a unique television platform in the rapidly growing casual game space. Our challenge is to extend and enhance our brand across the various platforms through which our audience watches and plays casual and skill games."

"GSN is a significant part of Sony Pictures' TV business, and David is the ideal person to lead the network," said Michael Lynton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment. "I've known David for many years, and he brings to this position a unique combination of expertise in entertainment, technology and finance. He will do a great job, especially in building audiences on television and online."

Liberty CEO Greg Maffei said: "I have known David for many years and am impressed with his strong track record which highlights his creativity, experience and keen business sense. We are very pleased to have a person of his caliber at GSN."

GSN board member Steve Mosko, President of Sony Pictures Television, stated: "We're fortunate to have David leading GSN at such an important juncture in the network's development as we expand the channel's brand, both in viewership and cross-platform reach."

GSN board member and Liberty Senior Vice President, Michael Zeisser, commented: "We are excited that David is coming aboard GSN. He's a forward thinker and an excellent choice to advance the GSN brand across all media and casual gaming platforms."

Added Goldhill, "The Sony and Liberty relationships are crucial to GSN's next stage of growth. I would hope that GSN's efforts will become more relevant to each of our owners' broader game businesses and that we can more fully leverage their substantial content production and distribution capabilities." In June, Goldhill was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of Fun Technologies, a Toronto-based online skill and sports games business in which Liberty is the majority shareholder.

Goldhill is currently a Senior Advisor to Associated Partners, a New York- based investment firm specializing in media, telecommunications and technology. From 2000 through its sale to the Interros Group in December of 2006, he served as chairman of the board of Independent Network Television Holdings, Ltd. (INTH), which built the TV3 television network in Russia. Goldhill had previously been CEO of INTH.

From 2002-2004, Goldhill was President and Chief Operating Officer of Universal Television Group, a division of Universal Studios. In this capacity, he oversaw all operations at the company's domestic and international cable television networks (including USA and SciFi), cable and network television studios, first-run syndication business, and worldwide television distribution.

He previously was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Act III Communications, a privately-owned holding company with interests in television stations, movie theaters, magazines, and film/television production. Goldhill began his career as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.

He serves on the board of directors of Expedia, Inc.; eLong, one of China's leading travel companies; and Pando Inc., a private file-sharing technology company. He graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. degree in history and holds a M.A. degree in the same subject from New York University.

Goldhill succeeds Rich Cronin, who previously announced his resignation.
