The Caraway Group Adds Top Media Executive to Lead its Strategic Communications Practice

Washington Post Assistant Editor and Former CNN Political Analyst, Terry M. Neal Joins TCG as Senior Vice President

WASHINGTON, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Washington Post assistant metro editor and national political correspondent Terry Neal has joined The Caraway Group, Inc., in its Washington headquarters to lead its public relations, public affairs and multicultural practices. Neal will provide senior level counsel to clients seeking access to the nation's most high-profile print, digital and broadcast media venues.

"Terry is a great fit for our strategic communications practice. Our clients demand forward-thinking strategy, access to traditional and new media and a trusted advisor. We get all of that and more with Terry," stated Yolanda Caraway, president and CEO, The Caraway Group, Inc.

Neal is considered an authority on national politics and worked under contract for CNN in 2000 and 2004 as a political analyst. He has appeared on dozens of other broadcast and cable news shows, including NBC's "Sunday Chris Matthews Show" and WUSA's "Eye on Washington." A journalist for more than seventeen years, Neal spent more than a decade at the Washington Post and washingtonpost.com, where he served as a political correspondent, covering national, state and local politics. Neal was the lead beat reporter covering George W. Bush's 2000 presidential campaign and was one of only a handful of reporters nationally to travel with the candidate from start to finish. Most recently, he served as an assistant metro editor at the Washington Post, where he managed a group of political and government reporters.

Neal briefly left the Washington Post after the 2000 election to work as a director in the Washington media practice of Burson-Marsteller, which lead to work with Burson client, Teddy Forstmann on an education-related project. He was lured back to the Washington Post in 2002 by the prospect of writing a column on politics for washingtonpost.com.

"Terry Neal was a top political reporter and editor. The journalism world will miss him and his unique set of skills. I have no doubt he will bring his talent and experience to the world of public relations," said Thomas B. Edsall, a former national political reporter at the Washington Post and the current political editor of the Huffington Post and correspondent for The New Republic.

"Terry is one of those folks who you call when you want a sharp mind on your idea. He's been a great coach to journalists, asks the right questions and members of the media trust him. He will be an asset to Caraway's clients," stated Minyon Moore, principal, the Dewey Square Group and senior advisor to the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign.

"I am excited to join a team so well equipped with the strategic thinking and unique access to influencers and diverse communities needed to counsel clients in the evolving world of communications," stated Terry Neal.
