South London's BRIT School Gears Up for Glastonbury Debut

- Six BRIT School Bands to Perform the Left Field at The World's Most
Famous Music Festival

The BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the UK record industry association
the BPI, has announced a unique partnership between The Workers' Beer Company
and The BRIT School that will see its students take to the Left Field stage
at this summer's Glastonbury Festival.

The non-fee paying performing arts school has produced many successful
performers in its 16 year history, and five of the BRIT school's former
pupils - Amy Winehouse, members of The Kooks & The Noisettes, Kate Nash and
Adele - will also perform at Glastonbury this year.

Soul Survivors, Charlene Soraia (Jones), Daisy's Sweethearts, Tacto
Latino, Ben and Fred, and African Skies may not yet be household names, but
will be hoping to emulate these past students' success when they perform at
the Left Field, which played host to British Sea Power, Babyshambles, Hard-Fi
and many others at the last Glastonbury in 2005.

The BRIT school isn't just about performers, and other students will also
take key roles behind the scenes, running the stages, operating cameras,
acting as back line technicians, serving as assistant stage managers, as well
as preparing imagery and digital film footage to support the performances.
Forty-two students, ex-students and staff in total will make up the team
during the festival.

BPI Chief Executive Geoff Taylor said: "Most performing arts students
would be content just to get tickets for Glastonbury, but then the BRIT
school isn't like most schools.

"To have so many talented students past and present performing and
working at the festival this year not only underlines the drive, commitment
and raw talent of the BRIT school's students but is a credit to everyone who
works at the school."
