EOD Education on Demand Debuts in Central Texas/Waco Markets on Time Warner Cable
Cable Channel With On-Demand Educational Content Has Been Launched by Austin-Based ADB Partners
AUSTIN, Texas, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Last fall, ADB Partners quietly launched a unique education-oriented television channel called EOD/Education on Demand on Time Warner Cable in Central Texas. Since that time, the company has been adding content and now offers a full spectrum of programming for viewers of all ages, with topics for career-minded professionals, families, and kids. In March, 2007, the channel was added to Time Warner Cable's Waco line-up as well. ADB Partners plans to roll-out the channel nationally beginning in early 2008.
"Education on Demand was developed based on our company's belief that learning is for everyone and must be a lifetime activity," Dr. Amanda Batson, founder and chief executive officer of ADB Partners, said. "We know that learning in today's busy world demands multiple options and that people want access to learning at their own convenience. To meet that need, we developed EOD in an easily accessible format available around the clock, to fit any schedule."
ADB Partners is in discussions with cable operators in other Texas markets for expansion later this year. The programming is available via a pay-per-view model, with each selection costing the viewer only 99 cents. Current channel categories include Business & Career, Fine Arts, Health, How To, and Leadership, plus programs for children and teens. The channel currently has more than 100 programs, and content is expanded and refreshed regularly.
"On-demand programming is becoming more and more popular with viewers," Lidia Agraz, vice president of government and public relations for Time Warner Cable-Central Texas, said. "Education on Demand is an excellent resource for a wide range of our audience, from business professionals wanting to brush up on their management skills to parents looking for something productive and fun for their children."
ADB Partners was established in 2004 by Amanda Batson to merge education and technology for the promotion of learning around the clock, every day of the year. Batson has a doctorate in curriculum and instruction as well as many years of experience in the education and technology fields. She has been the senior executive for two nonprofits, including a professional education organization and the Texas Cable & Telecommunications Association, and is a former school administrator and teacher.
