Nearly 4,000 Viewers will Witness the Autobots 'Roll Out' with the help of DLP Cinema(R) technology

WESTWOOD, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments (TI) (NYSE:TXN) today announced that its DLP Cinema(R) technology has been exclusively chosen as the digital cinema projection technology for the North American premiere of DreamWorks/Paramount's action packed feature, TRANSFORMERS.

TRANSFORMERS, the latest feature from acclaimed director Michael Bay ("The Island," "Bad Boys 2," "Pearl Harbor"), follows the battle between two races of aliens, Autobots and Decepticons on planet Earth. The North American premiere will take place during the 2007 Los Angeles Film Festival on June 27, 2007 before a crowd of nearly 4,000 viewers across four theaters in Westwood.

DLP Cinema(R) projectors have been showing movies in theatres since 1999, helping to drive the advancement of digital cinema. As of June 2007, the DLP Cinema screen count reached 4,600 worldwide, with tens of thousands of additional theatres announced to convert in the next few years. TRANSFORMERS marks the seventh release in digital cinema from DreamWorks who has previously released Collateral, Sinbad and the Seven Seas, Shark Tale, Madagascar and each of the films in the Shrek trilogy.

"The DLP Cinema(R) technology and stunning picture quality is ideal for bringing one of the year's most visually exciting films to the screen for the Los Angeles Film Festival," said Doug Darrow, brand and marketing manager, DLP Products. "DLP Cinema technology is a valuable tool for filmmakers in the festival circuit as digital cinema continues its adoption across the world."

"The LA Film Festival brings together an audience of avid fans and industry insiders who expect the best quality in films, including the way these films are presented to them," said Rich Raddon, festival director, Los Angeles Film Festival. "DLP technology presents movies with amazing clarity, TRANSFORMERS fans will be blown away."
