Skating Champions Cast in Starring Roles of Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor
VIENNA, Va., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- What time is it? It's time to celebrate for 18 world-class skaters who will heat up the ice with a live fusion of songs, dance and team-spirited fun in Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour inspired by the pop-culture sensation and Disney Channel Original Movie, "High School Musical," and this summer's highly anticipated "High School Musical 2." Announced today, these skaters will form the principal cast in the show's three separate touring productions and perform in the highly-coveted lead roles of East High's own Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor.

Produced by Feld Entertainment and Kenny Ortega, Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour will feature a talented group of skating stars that includes Olympic & World Championship competitors, National Champions from around the world, and a host of professional ice skating elite from the international touring circuit.

Performing Arts. Two-time Australian National Champion and four-time
World Championship competitor.
-- Victor "Trey" Ehre (Buffalo, New York) -Graduate of Williamsville
North High School home of the Spartans! U.S. National Championship
competitor. Starred in Holiday on Ice and featured in numerous
touring productions, including Footloose on Ice, Broadway On Ice and
the Ice Theatre of New York.
-- Jordan Brauninger (Ludlow, Kentucky) - Graduate of the Abbington Hill
home school program! World Junior Figure Skating Championship Bronze
medalist and U.S. Junior National Championship Silver medalist in
pairs.
Starring as Gabriella Montez:
-- Gladys Orozco (Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico) - Graduate of the
Instituto Regiomontano La Salle, home of the Lions! Six-time Mexican
National Championship and Four Continents competitor.
-- Amanda Billings (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) -Graduate of Bishop Carroll
High School, home of the Cardinals! Canadian National Figure Skating
Championship competitor. Featured Performer in Celebration on Ice
tour along with Kurt Browning, Elvis Stojko, and Jennifer Robinson.
-- Lane Walker (Chicago, Illinois) - Graduate of Prospect High School,
home of the Knights! Five-time Upper Great Lakes Regional
Championship competitor.
Starring as Ryan Evans:
-- Adam Loosley (Petrolia, Ontario, Canada) - Graduate of Lambton Central
Collegiate Vocational Institute, home of the Lancers! All Ontario
Champion and Silver medalist in the 2000 Ontario Winter Games. In
2002, recognized by Skate Canada as a quadruple Gold Medalist.
-- Vyacheslav Chiliy (Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine) - An international
competitor, medaling in both singles and pairs before turning
professional. Junior Men's Champion of USSR and the first Men's
Senior Champion of Ukraine.
-- Bonard Muck (Blackville, New Brunswick, Canada) - Graduate of
Blackville High School, home of the Golden Eagles! Bronze medalist at
the Canadian National Championships in Novice Dance. Silver medalist
in Canadian Winter Games in Novice Dance.
Starring as Sharpay Evans:
-- Helena Grundberg (Gnesta, Sweden) - Member of the Swedish Olympic
Team. Two-time Swedish National Champion. Three-time European and
World Championship competitor.
-- Kristen Treni (Jamestown, New York) - Graduate of Southwestern High

competitor. Appeared in the productions of Sensations On Ice,

-- Stephen Smith (Union City, California) - Graduate of San Mateo High
School, home of the Bearcats! Performed in the 2002 Olympic Games
Closing Ceremonies in Salt Lake City, UT. A U.S. National
Championship competitor and a USFSA Gold medalist.
-- Simeon Hanks (Dallas, Texas) - Graduate of the Booker T. Washington
High School for the Performing Arts, home of the Pegasus! Competed in
the Junior Southwestern Regional Championship. Southwestern Regional
Championship Bronze medalist (2003) and Gold Medalist (1998).
-- Jamie Loper (Wilmington, Delaware) - Graduate of Brandywine High
School home of the Bulldogs! Five-time U.S. National Championship
competitor, two-time USFSA gold medalists, three-time Eastern Regional
Championships silver medalist.

Choreographer Charles "Chucky" Klapow was brought in to Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour to adapt some of his Emmy(R) Award-winning dance moves from the "High School Musical" movie to the ice. A Wildcat in both movies himself, Klapow said, "The skaters in the show are really cool and encompass the fun and excitement of what 'High School Musical' is all about. We've cast kids who are so athletic and fast, and when we put that speed and athleticism together with the hip-hop moves from the movies, these kids are really going to rock the house."
