Damon Ross Joins DreamWorks Animation as Senior Development Executive
GLENDALE, Calif., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Damon Ross, who most recently co-produced the Jack Black comedy Nacho Libre and served as a key executive at Nickelodeon Movies, has just joined DreamWorks Animation as a Senior Development Executive. In his new role, Ross will focus on acquiring and developing fresh and exciting literary projects and other original material for the studio. He will handle day-to-day development of the studio's features alongside fellow Senior Development Executive, Chris Kuser, and will report to DreamWorks Animation's Head of Creative Development and Production Bill Damaschke, and the studio's Head of Development, Kristine Belson.

Ross most recently worked at Nickelodeon Movies where he served as Vice President of Development & Production. During his 12-year tenure there, he optioned and shepherded the feature film development of several high-profile children's books, including: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events; The Spiderwick Chronicles, which Mark Waters is directing; Angus, Thongs & Full Frontal Snogging which Gurinder Chadha is writing and directing; and the award-winning picture book, Sector 7, which Shari Berman & Robert Pulcini are writing, among others. In 2006, Ross co-produced the comedy, Nacho Libre - inspired by a true story that Ross discovered in 2003. Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) and starring Jack Black, the film was one of the hits of that year.
