Outdoor Channel Saddles Up With Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association

Exclusive Coverage of Eight PRCA ProRodeo Events on Outdoor Channel Beginning May 2

TEMECULA, Calif., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel, America's leader in outdoor TV, announced today a partnership with Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) to telecast exclusive coverage of eight PRCA rodeos including events such as bull riding, bareback riding, and steer wrestling, as well as others beginning May 2. The shows will be televised every Wednesday night at 11 p.m. (ET) and every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (ET) from May 2 to September 26.

"Together with PRCA, we expect to create some of the most exciting television for our viewers," said Tom Hornish, Chief Operating Officer at Outdoor Channel. "Our audience will appreciate this addition to our Wednesday night thematic block that features western-lifestyle programming."

Outdoor Channel will capture all of the excitement on high-definition cameras to bring the viewer as up close without getting dust in their eyes. When captured at high-definition clarity, ProRodeo is at its best.

Eight rodeos will be included in the lineup, starting with RodeoHouston on May 2, May 9 and May 16. Following will be coverage of the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Pocatello, Idaho; Flagstaff (Ariz.) Pine Country Pro Rodeo; West of the Pecos (Texas) Rodeo; Sheridan (Wyo.) Rodeo; Cheyenne (Wyo.) Frontier Days Rodeo; Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo in Abilene (Kan.), and the Sikeston (Mo.) Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo.

Three-time National Finals Rodeo (NFR) announcer and 18-year announcing veteran Roger Mooney will handle the commentary on the shows. Mooney serves as the arena announcer at approximately 40 PRCA rodeos a year. Terry Holland, Championship Bull Riding (CBR) judge and announcer, will join Mooney in the booth.
