Hallmark's Cards with Sound Take Center Stage in Father's Day Search

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Moving dad from the recliner to the dance floor this Father's Day just got a whole lot easier.

To celebrate the contributions fathers make to their families, Hallmark is inviting dads from across the country to participate in one of eight "Daddy of All Dance-Off" events where they will show off their dance moves. Dads will compete for the chance to win great prizes and the opportunity to be named the "No. 1 Dancing Dad."

At each "Daddy of All Dance-Off" event, dads will be rocking out to Hallmark's Cards with Sound featuring popular tunes from musicians such as MC Hammer, The Romantics, Smash Mouth, and more. Participating dads really will have to strut their stuff, as other local dads will be vying against them to be selected as the best dancing dad from that city by a panel of three judges. The "Daddy of All Dance-Off" events are free and open to the first 20 dads brave enough to bust a move!

Dads can participate in one of eight "Daddy of All Dance-Off" events around the country, which will take place on June 2 and June 9 in the following cities and locations:

-- Charlotte, N.C., June 2 (Carolina Place, Pineville, N.C.)
-- Denver, Colo., June 2 (Park Meadows Mall, Littleton, Colo.)
-- Hartford, Conn., June 2 (Buckland Hills Mall, Manchester, Conn.)
-- Sacramento, Calif., June 2 (Downtown Plaza, Sacramento, Calif.)
-- Houston, Texas, June 9 (The Willowbrook Mall, Houston, Texas)
-- Phoenix, Ariz., June 9 (Paradise Valley Mall, Phoenix, Ariz.)
-- St. Louis, Mo., June 9 (West County Mall, St. Louis, Mo.)
-- Tampa, Fla., June 9 (Citrus Park Mall, Tampa, Fla.)

The top dancing dad from each city will win a 42" flat screen TV and qualify to compete for the title of the "No. 1 Dancing Dad" and $5,000 via nationwide online vote on http://www.hallmark.com/ where videos of the winner from each city will be posted from June 11 to 14. Consumers can visit this Web site to watch the videos and vote for their favorite dancing dad. One vote is allowed per person. The "No. 1 Dancing Dad" will be announced on http://www.hallmark.com/ June 15.

At each of the events, Hallmark aims to "move dad" not only emotionally this Father's Day, but also physically by giving away Hallmark's Cards with Sound. This year, Hallmark offers 39 Father's Day Cards with Sound, featuring everything from favorite songs, classic movies, and television shows to real- life sounds of the ballpark and memorable quotes from men such as Bill Cosby, Ben Franklin, and Joe Namath. The newest cards feature music from artists such as Barry White, The Romantics, Smash Mouth and MC Hammer -- aired with humorous messages recognizing dad for all he's done and all the things about dads that make us laugh.
