MSNBC's Chris Matthews Will Moderate AFSCME Presidential Forum
WASHINGTON, May 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AFSCME will host a Democratic Presidential Forum as part of its 2007 National Leadership Conference on Tuesday morning, June 19, 2007, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, from 8:00 until 10:45 a.m. The event will be moderated by Chris Matthews, MSNBC Election Anchor and host of MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews."
More than 2,000 AFSCME members and retirees from around the United States will attend this Democratic Presidential Forum, the second AFSCME has sponsored in 2007. In February, the 1.4-million-member union held the nation's first presidential forum of the 2008 election cycle in Carson City, Nevada.
Confirmed candidates for the June 19 event include U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, former U.S. Senator John Edwards, U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich, U.S. Senator Barack Obama and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. The AFSCME Democratic Presidential Forum is open to the press, and members of the media may pre-register for credentials online at http://www.afscme.org/credentials.
