Sharing News Network Launches Round-The-Clock Reporting of Positive News

Sharing News Network Launches Round-The-Clock Reporting of Positive News

Hosted by Singer Amy Grant, Web Network Dedicated to Telling Real-Life Stories of Sharing

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Shedd's Country Crock(R) announced today the start of an entirely different news network - one that tells positive stories to balance the bad news we hear everyday. The Sharing News Network, SNN, an online newscast will report stories of sharing captured from around the nation that help make America a great place.

SNN was launched as part of "Spread the Sharing," a new national campaign that challenges Americans to tell one million stories of sharing by Thanksgiving 2007. Each story told will result in a meal donation through America's Second Harvest by Country Crock.

SNN will web cast weekly two- to three-minute reports of "sharing news" on www.SpreadTheSharing.com.

SNN is hosted by Grammy Award-winning singer Amy Grant, for the "Spread the Sharing" campaign. Amy recently hosted her own network program dedicated to making wishes come true.

No story of sharing is too big or too small - whether bringing cookies to a new neighbor or lending a hand at a local community soup kitchen.

The Spread the Sharing website will feature a tally of the meals shared, a map featuring stories by state, and exclusive video footage taken by SNN reporters who will travel the nation videotaping stories of sharing. The stories will be reported as part of the weekly newscast and available in a video diary. Website visitors can view stories by state and find other information on sharing.

"This new campaign celebrates stories of sharing," says Ms. Grant. "When people hear positive news of others sharing, they are motivated to go out and try to make a difference in their communities."
