Hard Rock Park Unveils The Backstage Tour

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Hard Rock Park, the world's first rock 'n' roll theme park, today opened its doors to the Hard Rock Park Backstage Tour, an interactive preview center that gives visitors a sneak peek of Hard Rock Park. Celebrating with a concert to be held at the Hard Rock Park site headlined by Sister Hazel, Georgia Satellites and a Led Zeppelin tribute band, Led Zepagain, crowds will be treated to a special preview of the first new major attraction to be built in the U.S. in nearly a decade. As an added bonus, Paul Green's School of Rock All Stars (students of the famous rock school that inspired the hit movie) are making a special appearance and plan to "rock Myrtle Beach."

Free to the public, the Backstage Tour will be open through early 2008. The 7,000-square-foot facility is divided into six interactive rooms representing the various "rock environs" within the Park: All Access Entry Plaza, Rock & Roll Heaven, British Invasion, Lost in the 70's, Born in the USA and Cool Country. Each room showcases several major rides and attractions and are outfitted with various pieces of memorabilia that will be incorporated into the Park. Highlights include:

-- A model of the Park's signature roller coaster, Led Zeppelin - The
Ride, displayed in Rock & Roll Heaven, and features a brief video
simulator of the ride with binaural sounds creating a life-like
sensory experience for visitors.

-- Follow the yellow shag rug that leads the way into the Lost in the
70's room. Then, on to a swirling walk-through vortex, which serves as
a mind bending portal to British Invasion where visitors will have the
opportunity to check out, and even win, an actual "shagadelic" MG
decked out in the Union Jack.

-- True to its name, Cool Country showcases how Country rocks! Featuring
a real ice sculpture of a Rock-a-billy guitar, a glimpse. of the
featured indoor ice skating show, Country on the Rocks, along with a
sneak preview of the spooky "Midnight Rider" rollercoaster.

-- Born in the USA offers visitors a chance to peek in on a rock
recording session, see the jacket worn by Madonna on the cover of her
album Music, and boasts the infectious "Live Mic" stage, where guests
can step up and sing to a stadium of thousands of screaming fans.

-- Featured in the final room, dubbed The Model Room, guests can view an
intricate scale model of the Park, and listen to what's soon to come
from Hard Rock Park, thanks to an unprecedented HyperSonic sound
system that focuses on individual visitors as they step into various
sound beams, whispering details about the Park that only they can
hear.

Opening Spring 2008, Hard Rock Park will be an approximately 140-acre theme park boasting more than 40 attractions for rockers of all ages, including roller coasters, shows, children's play areas, restaurants, cafes and retail stores, a multi-purpose live music amphitheatre and ultra-modern sound system specifically developed for the project, creating a totally immersive full day experience.
