Movistar Mexico Selects Evolving Systems Solution for Dynamic SIM Management and Provisioning
* Win Highlights Evolving Systems' Continued Market Penetration in Latin America
* Combined Tertio(TM) and NumeriTrack(R) solution for Innovative SIM Management
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., March 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today announced that it has been selected by Movistar Mexico, a subsidiary of Grupo Telefonica Moviles of Spain, to provide a solution for managing and provisioning universal Subscriber Identity Modules (SIM) Cards. This award marks Evolving Systems' entry into the Mexican market, and is the second significant win with regional partner American Telecommunication, Inc. (ATI). Under the agreement Evolving Systems will provide the core solution technology and related technical services, and ATI will develop custom functionality and provide dedicated in-country support.
The solution, comprised of Evolving Systems' Tertio(TM) provisioning platform and its International NumeriTrack(R) number resource inventory platform, and ATI's SS7 Gateway, will enable Movistar to effectively manage its SIM Card inventory and to dynamically provision the SIMS and services in real-time when new subscribers enter the network. The solution is expected to provide Movistar significant cost savings associated with SIM inventory management efficiency and improve their end-customer experience by enabling subscriber self-provisioning.
Vicente Seoanne, Movistar's Director of Value Added Services, said, "After a thorough evaluation, Evolving Systems was selected together with ATI based on their technical superiority, delivery times and local support capabilities. We believe that Evolving Systems' ability to provide us with a customized solution based on existing mature products will enable us to bring the solution into production quicker and at a lower risk than with other alternatives."
"In addition to being a significant win with one of Latin America's most influential carriers, this contract represents an important milestone for Evolving Systems," said Thad Dupper, president of Evolving Systems. "As part of this project we will be integrating our two flagship products -- Tertio and NumeriTrack -- providing Movistar with a unique set of benefits around SIM management that will help them reduce costs, build competitive advantage and improve customer service. Combining Tertio and NumeriTrack into a single solution has been an important goal since acquiring Tertio Telecoms in November of 2004."
"We are very proud to have been selected in this important project together with Evolving Systems," said Luis Alberto Nunez, CEO of American Telecommunication, Inc. "The combination of Evolving Systems' technology and ATI's regional sales and support infrastructure and technical know-how provide an attractive value proposition to operators in the Market. We look forward to implementing this exciting project together with Evolving Systems."
Evolving Systems' NumeriTrack(R) number management solution enables operators to store, assign, track and manage their telephone numbers for all services. It helps to improve customer service by providing a centralized, high performance system with instant access to accurate numbering. The NumeriTrack solution also helps to lower operational cost and effort by automating manual processes and integrating seamlessly with other OSS processes such as billing, activation and number portability. The solution provides extensive capabilities for forecasting, tracking and reporting number utilization to enable operators to manage their numbers proactively and meet any regulatory requirements.
Evolving Systems' Tertio(TM) service activation solution enables operators to replace legacy and custom built service activation solutions with a solution that can be cheaper and easier to operate. The solution helps operators manage growth by reducing the time to activate services, decreasing the number of errors, and lowering the cost of operations. The Tertio solution, which supports Linux as well as various commercial UNIX(R) products, offers operators a cost-effective and scalable choice of hardware architectures. It also provides graphical tools to enable rapid service modeling, service assembly and service integration to speed up service rollout and make it simpler for carriers to use their own staff to maintain and enhance the system.
