Five For Fighting Donates Latest Single to the Breast Cancer 3-Day
'World' being featured in 2007 advertising campaign
JENKINTOWN, Pa., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- What kind of world do you want? Platinum-certified and Grammy nominated singer/songwriter John Ondrasik and his band, Five For Fighting asks this question in their latest single entitled "World," which is from their new CD, Two Lights (Aware/Columbia). Ondrasik and Five For Fighting donated use of the single for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Series' 2007 television advertising campaign.
"I am pleased to attach my song 'World' to the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust. For 25 years, Komen for the Cure has led by example in taking action and making a difference. The Breast Cancer 3-Day allows others to join them in the breast cancer movement," said John Ondrasik, lead singer for Five For Fighting. "Such themes are embodied in 'World' with the simple question 'What kind of world do you want?' It is my hope that my music brings awareness to this cause as we continue to work towards a cure."
Ondrasik and his wife lost a family member to breast cancer.
"We're inspired by the generosity of John and Five For Fighting, which will greatly help us increase awareness and funds for breast health programs through the Breast Cancer 3-Day," said Sue Wagner, Breast Cancer 3-Day project manager with National Philanthropic Trust. "As someone who lost a loved one to this terrible disease, John understands all too well the importance of finding a way to contribute to the breast cancer movement in a meaningful way. Through his music, he is doing just that."
Television advertising featuring "World" began airing in January. In addition, Five For Fighting launched a Web site inviting fans to submit videos on what kind of world they want or view other videos previously submitted, resulting in additional proceeds for the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
